Doesn’t the First Amendment allow us to say racist things or anything that may hurt someone’s feelings. If you say something (anything) and someone declares what you have said to be racist (based on what I have no clue) then is it racist? Is there an book on what is racist and what isn’t? How are we to know what is or is not racist?
Then there are the dreaded ‘code words’. What words are code words?
In my view I think it is fine for people to use whatever words they want to. If others judge them by the words they use that is fine too. Lenny Bruce was on to something.
By declaring whatever you think is racist racist then that gives you power over that person.

There’s a difference between being racial and being racist. This is racial, meaning that it implies something about blacks in general, the fact that they like fried chicken. It is NOT racist, meaning that it doesn’t imply that any one race is better or worse than another. So stop saying that this is racist!

Seriously, it’s not racist. If you don’t know the meaning of a word, you probably shouldn’t use it. You also shouldn’t be overly sensitive. There’s nothing malicious about this picture. It’s merely comical. This picture doesn’t make the implication that one race is superior to another, it simply plays on a humorous, non-harmful stereotype.
An example of racism might be saying that jewish people are people are greedy, black people live on welfare, mexicans steal American jobs, and white people are have all the money because their white. All of those remarks are insulting, derogatory and racist. They’re a result of hate, jealousy, fear, and senseless pride.
The implication that black people like fried chicken more than other ethnicities is not malicious or insulting.

Just because someone votes for Mccain does not mean they are racist. The last time I rememebered people voted for the right president because they liked their views on stuff. I don’t think you should vote for Obama just because your stating that your not racist. I am not racist and I don’t think racism is funny, but if I could have voted I would have voted for Mccain.

This IS racist. And it IS funny. It would be funny if it were an Irishman clutching on to a bottle of Guinness, a Chinaman with a bowl of rice, or a white kid with his macaroni and cheese and PS3 joystick.
What make these pix funny is that there is an element of truth to them. Stereotypes are not contrived, but rather, are products of observed phenomena.
Having said that, this pic IS insensitve. But the only folks that have a right to complain are blacks, not whiny liberal twirps who hit the message boards, politicizing every comment. (And blacks, why not post a few pix of white guys trying to dance or box? Turn the joke around on us! We can take it.

If this is racist then someone needs to inform BET Comic Review that they are in the wrong and racist every time one of the comedians there makes fun of white people.
I laugh at the jokes they put out and I’m white. I found this pic to be hilariously funny along those same lines as BET deems their show to be comedy.
